Gabriel Dumenil
Graduated in 2012 with a master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the French top law school Paris II Panthéon-Assas University, Gabriel Dumenil decided, in parallel to practicing law, to embark on an academic career.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Law from Panthéon-Assas Paris II University in 2017 with a thesis titled ‘Domicile in Criminal Law,’ which received the thesis prize from the university and an honorary prize from the Chancery of the Universities. The thesis has been published by LGDJ. For many years, he taught Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at this university. Since 2022, he has been delivering lectures on Criminal Procedure at Paris-Sud University. He also provides lectures in various Master’s programs and conducts continuing legal education for lawyers and legal professionals, notably at the Paris Bar School (EFB). He regularly publishes articles and studies in various legal journals.
From 2013 to 2019, Gabriel Dumenil practiced business litigation and criminal law at the renowned French law firm Lafarge Associés, during which time he handled major criminal, financial and political cases.
During his year as Secrétaire de la Conférence in 2017, he acquired a solid practical experience of criminal cases, especially in their investigation and trial phases.
